Rebel factions led by Nusra seize two hills southern Aleppo

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Rebel factions led by Nusra Front have recaptured a two hills from regime troops and their allies in the southern countryside of Aleppo, activists said on Tuesday.

Rebels and Nusra Fighters have recaptured al Baqara and Bunjaira hills, a move may hinder regime efforts to control strategic supply route and ammunition depots.

The Syrian regime is hoping it’s a case of fourth time lucky as they attempt to retake the northwestern province of Aleppo for the fourth time since the Syrian conflict started in March 2011. The operation has, with the help of Russian airstrikes, enabled forces loyal to President Bashar Assad to make some of their most significant gains, according to IBTimes.

At least 200,000 people have been displaced since early October in Aleppo, Hama and Idlib, activists and monitoring groups said.
