Syrian Intelligence issued 639 warrants against Frenchmen including Journalists, Intellectuals: leaked archive

(Zaman Al Wasl- Special)- Only few Hours after the bloody attacks of Paris that
killed more than 130 people,  Bashar al-Assad met a number of French parliamentarians, intellectuals and media figures in his presidential palace,  giving a talk of solidarity and total sympathy.

Al-Assad said Paris attacks were acts of terror that similar to what his people had faced in years of violent civil war.

What Damascus tyrant did not reveal to his French official guests that his intelligence wanted lists are containing hundreds of warrants  like prosecution, detention or prevention of entry against many French citizens.

Moreover, the Syrian intelligence archive that obtained by Zaman al-Wasl with more than 1,700,000 documents has contained names of famous Frenchmen, including respected icons contributed to the "popular resistance" during Second World War and had a prominent role in the liberating France from Nazi occupation.

 Al-Assad, who mentioned in his speech events of “Charlie Hebdo" to give the impression that his regime defends freedom speech and media, did not mention the names of many prominent French Journalists are listed in intelligence files and some of them were issued arrest warrants.

Zaman Al Wasl went to the million-notice intelligence archive it obtained, and found in figures that there were 639 warrants against French people, putting France at advanced rank among European nationalities targeted by the Syrian regime.

Searching through the intelligence lists revealed that notices and arrest warrants were issued against political symbols and have long history in France, including: Jean-Pierre Bloch, One of the most important Symbol of French Popular Resistance against the Nazi occupation during Second World War, and became a member of the French National Assembly (Parliament) since 1936.

Bloch won a large number of decorations and medals either inside or outside France, and most important were the Legion of Honour of officer rank, Medal of Supreme Soviet Union and medal of liberated France. "Bloch" died in 1999.

Among the most important listed names on the lists of the Assad the surprise was that twin brothers “Alfred and Paul Floret”, symbols of resistance against the Nazis were listed within the regime intelligence.

Alfred Coste Floret, a French political and was an important member of the European Parliament, he was a member of several committees in it, prior he participated in founding the network for resistance against Nazi occupation.

Paul Coste Floret, the twin brother of Alfred, a prominent French politician served as adviser of the French Minister of Justice, he contributed in preparation of the Constitution of the Fourth Republic in 1958.

Paul occupied 9 ministerial positions in successive French governments in 40s and 50s of previous century. He died in 1999.

Zaman Al Wasl has identified 15 warrant against French journalists within the intelligence archive, most notably an arrest warrant for the Dean of military correspondents in France, "Yves Debye", who was killed by the regime in an attack on Aleppo beginning of 2013.

Another arrest warrant was for Marc Burleigh, the prominent journalist in France Press Agency, he worked in several capitals around the world, and is currently the director of the agency's office in the whole of Central America.
More arrest warrant for journalist Christophe Ayad known of his distinctive investigations in Rwanda, Iraq and Gaza.

There is an arrest warrant for professional photographer Laurent Van Der Stockt, and another against the journalist Didier François, who was one of the 4 French journalists reported to be kidnapped at the "jihadists" in Syria, and were released in April 2014, after 10 months of abduction.

The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for attacks in Paris that killed over 129 people, 180 injured, 80 critical. The claim was made in a statement in Arabic and French released online Saturday. French President Francois Hollande had earlier blamed the attacks on the ISIS, calling it "an act of war" and vowing to strike back.
