At least 30 civilians killed in Russia, Syria airstrikes on Deir Ezzor province

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 30 civilians have been killed across the eastern Deir Ezzor province as Syrian regime warplanes backed by Russian jets intensify aerial campaign on ISIS-held territory, local activists said Saturday.

The devastating air strikes rocked towns of al Mayadin, Al Bukamal, Al Mohassan and the neighborhoods and districts surround Deir Ezzor military air base, local activists said.

Russia's air force flew 394 sorties and hit 731 targets in Syria in the last three days, mostly in Deir Ezzor, Interfax news agency cited the head of the Russian air group in Syria as saying Friday.

He said the Russian military air fleet in Syria was reinforced by 8 Su-34 bombers and a unit of Sy-27SM3 jet fighters, according to the report.

In northern Syria, Al Shamiya Front fighters on Friday have recaptured villages of Harajleh and Dalha on the Turkish border from ISIS , inflicting heavy losses on the radical group, rebel commander told Zaman al Wasl.

Abu Mohamed, senior commander in al Shamiya, said dozens of ISIS fighters were killed, and 4 more were held captive, posting footage for them.
No casualties fell among his group, he added.

Since 2011, four million Syrians have fled abroad. Millions more have been internally displaced, while at least 250,000 have been killed.
