Southern Front launches attack to take strategic town northern Daraa

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Southern Front rebels have launched a new battle to take a strategic regime-held town in Daraa province, activists said Thursday.

Taking the town of Jediya is very vital for rebels if it happens that enable them to cut an army supply route between Daraa and Damascus as weel it make them close to capture Brigade 15 in nearby Enkhel town, activists said.

Rebels have targeted the main missile battalion in the town with heavy artillery.

Losses in arms and tanks reported.

Southern Front includes some 30,000 fighters from more than 55 mainstream opposition groups operating from the Jordanian border to the outskirts of Damascus and the Golan Heights.

Since 2011, four million Syrians have fled abroad. Millions more have been internally displaced, while at least 250,000 have been killed.
