Assad warplanes dropped 820 barrel bombs on Daraya south Damascus in November: local council

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime warplanes had dropped 820 barrel bombs on Daraya suburb southern the capital in November, local governing council said.

The poor southern outskirt of Damascus has been under suffocating siege for over three years and under daily barrage of barrel bombs in the last three months.

In the last 24 hours, Syrian army helicopters have dropped more than 40 barrel bombs on Daraya, the council said. A 5-year-old girl killed Saturday in the aerial bombing, it added.

Bashar al-Assad's air force has frequently used the barrel bombs which made from a large barrel-shaped metal container that has been filled with high explosives, with possibly shrapnel, oil or chemicals.
