Russia, Assad air strikes kill at least 65 civilians in Damascus, Aleppo, Deir Ezzor

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime air strikes have killed 14 civilians in the eastern and western suburbs of the Syrian capital, a monitoring group said on Saturday.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights said 6 people, including mother and her newborn, have been killed in southern district of Daraya.

In the embattled Eastern Ghouta suburbs, 8 more people were killed in Zamalaka and Hamouriyeh due to missile attacks.

Syrian regime backed by Russia's jets has stepped up its devastating aerial campaign on rebel-held areas in Eastern Ghouta suburbs near Damascus for over two months.

This week,  the aerial bombing on Eastern Ghouta have killed at least 85 people, according to monitoring groups. The deadly air strikes pounded towns of Douma, Kafr Batna, Irbeen, Jisrin and al-Abbadeh, Zamalaka and Hamouriyeh.

In the northern province of Aleppo, 41 people were killed and another 65 injured Saturday in Russian airstrikes that targeted Aleppo province, Syrian Civil Defense sources told Anadolu Agency.

The sources in the towns of Atarib and Munbij said that a Russian airstrike targeted a residential area in Munbij, leaving 30 people dead, including 15 children.

Another 11 people were killed in another airstrike on Atarib, according to Anadolu agency.

In Syrian east, Russia's warplanes on Saturday have killed at least 10 civilians, mostly one family members, in air strikes on the Isis-controlled town of al-Bukamal in the eastern Deir Ezzor province. 

The airstrikes have targeted the Isis-controlled town of al-Bukamal in the eastern Deir Ezzor province, leaving 10 people dead and 50 more wounded.

Russian air force in Syria, which consists of around 50 planes and helicopters with a further 37 aircraft, have carried out around 3500 sorties in Syria since air strikes began on Sep.30, killing more than 1000 people, monitoring groups say.

Syria's war started with a pro-democracy movement that grew into an armed uprising and has inflamed regional confrontations. About 300,000 people have died in the conflict, according to United Nations estimates.
