80 Syrian regime troops killed by Nusra Front in southern Aleppo, group says

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Al Qaeda's Syria branch, the Nusra Front, has posted online photos for what it said corpses of 80 Syrian regime soldiers and allied militants who had been killed in the recent clashes in the southern countryside of Aleppo province.

The powerful jihadi group that controls most of Syrian north said the slain fighters were killed near Banis village which it had been captured and nearby checkpoints by rebels on Monday. 

The Russian missile attack on Sunday has targeted town of Maskenah in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, leaving 25 people, including women and children dead, and turned the market to rubble, the town's media center said. 

Russian air force in Syria, which consists of around 50 planes and helicopters with a further 37 aircraft, have carried out around 3500 sorties in Syria since air strikes began on Sep.30, killing more than 1000 people, monitoring groups say.

About 300,000 people have been killed since Syrian revolution erupted in March 2011.
