Lebanese military court decided to arrest the leader of the "Islamic Tawhid" Hashim Minqara, under the accusation of hiding information from the authorities related to the bombings of Altaqwa and Alsalam mosques in Tripoli .
The arrest came alongside
arresting Ahmed Gharib and detective Mustafa Houry under investigation in the
bombings of Tripoli as well.
Lebanese press sources confirmed
that the initial investigation with Minqara finished yesterday evening under
the supervision of Judge “Sakr” and he would issue an accusation statement
against Minqara and Gharib in which accusing them of participating in the
criminal murder and committing terrorist acts . Both will be detained and
transferred to a military investigating judge alongside the detective “Houry”
information published " Republic"
newspaper revealed that initial investigations showed communication between the
two sheikhs Hashim Minqara and Ahmed Gharib and the headquarter of General
Intelligence in Syria directed by Ali Mamlouk
, that informed them about car blasts
will be sent from the Syrian intelligence centre in Tartus to Tripoli within
two weeks to be exploded in front of mosques without telling them the exact
time.
Besides that, the Syrian
Intelligence informed the two sheikhs about the intention to assassinate the
former general director of the Internal Security Forces Major Ashraf Rifi , MP Khaled Daher and Sheikh
Salem Rafaee , and asked Minqara to provide young men to drive car blasts and park them in from of
the targeted areas, but Minqara could not provide young men.
Later Syrian investigation asked
the two sheikhs to monitor Rifi, Daher and Rafaee, and Minqara from his side
monitored targets in Tripoli with the help of other people and Sheikh Gharib were
aware of that.
Minqara and Gharib denied during
investigations putting the two cars near the two mosques “Alsalam and Altaqwa”
Investigations showed that the goal of the
operation was to raise sectarian conflict between Sunnis and Shiites to carry
over Mamlouk- Smaha plan.
