Ahrar al-Sham mourns senior commander killed in southern Aleppo

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Powerful Syrian rebel group, Ahrar al-Sham movement, has mourned Thursday one of its senior commanders who has been killed in the southern countryside of Aleppo.

Muthar Abdul Salam Hamdoun, also known as Abu Abdul Salam al-Sham, has lost his life in the ongoing battles with Syrian regime forces and allied Shiite militia.

Hamdoun, 31, was the first governor of Idlib city after its capture last March and one the founders of first university in rebel-held areas.

On September9, 2014,  at least 45 rebel commanders of Ahrar al-Sham, including its leader Hassan Aboud, were killed in a suicide bomb attack in Ram Hamdan town in Idlib.
