(Zaman Al Wasl)- The U.N. Commission of Inquiry on Syria phoned Zaman al Wasl Friday to get more information over an asylum seeker and a former Syrian regime soldier who was involved in mass torture photos published early 2014.
Zaman al Wasl has provided the "Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic" with more details over the Europe's asylum seeker who was among the military team of the notorious 601 hospital that wrapped and photographed corpses of 11,000 detainees killed by Syrian security services.
On October 4, Zaman al Wasl disclosed that Mohamed Ahmed Tafankaji had entered Germany where he settled with his mother and two brothers in Herrmann-leichtlin-strasse camp.
The leaked photos illustrate apparent actions of serious international crimes committed in the chambers of security services against 11,000 detainees, according to human rights advocates.
In mid 2013, a team of war crimes prosecutors and forensic experts, had analyzed 55 thousand digital photos taken and provided by a Syrian defector codenamed "Caesar," who, along with his family, is now living outside Syria in an undisclosed location, according to CNN.
Syria is not a member of the International Criminal Court. The only way the court could prosecute someone from Syria would be through a referral from the United Nations Security Council.
About 300,000 people have been killed in Syria since the revolt against Bashar al-Assad began in March 2011.
