9 people killed in air strikes on Idlib, Damascus: monitor

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 9 people killed in Idlib, Aleppo and Damascus provinces as Russia intensifies its devastating aerial campaign on rebel-held areas across Syria for nearly three months.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights reported Monday the death of 9 civilians, including 3 women and two children, in Russian and regime air strikes.

4 people, including 2 women, have been killed in regime air strikes on al Rami village in northern province of Idlib.

 
5 people, including 2 children and a woman, were killed in missile attack es on Beit Sawa town near Damascus, SNHR added.

Also in Damascus, Jaish al-Islam (Army of Islam) this morning fired a mortar round into the residential district of Barzeh (north of Damascus), killing one civilian and wounding nine people,  the SANA state news agency reported.

Meanwhile, activists reported new clashes in al-Ghab Plain in Hama province between rebels and regime forces. In the western countryside, tens of families have fled of Qalaat al-Madiq town due to aerial bombardment, activists added.

Human Rights Watch charged Sunday that Assad's forces and their Russian allies have been making “extensive” use of cluster munitions against rebel groups since late September.

Since 2011, four million Syrians have fled abroad. Millions more have been internally displaced, while at least 300,000 have been killed.
