Riad Hijab, Opposition Coordinator and former PM, faces 4 arrest warrants by Assad security: archive

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Riad Hijab, the newly-appointed Syrian opposition's coordinator for Syria future talks and  former prime minister who defected in August 2012, is facing 4 arrest warrants issued by the regime's security services, according to the leaked archive obtained by Zaman Al Wasl.

Hijab has come to light again after Riyadh conference for the Syrian political and armed groups, as he was one of the first opposition figures to be invited, and he was appointed during the closing statement on 10th of this month December as the head of the higher committee for negotiation to sort out the Syrian crisis.

Hijab has become a target for the Syrian regime after defection. Zaman Al Wasl and through the archive of 1.7 million notice and arrest warrant confirmed that 4 arrest warrant were issued against Hijab and a fifth was a travel ban from Syria.

The first notice was issued in 2012 by the Political Security Division, under number 728 193, it was a travel ban and mentioned Riyad Hijab as the “dismissed Prime Minister”.

In 2103 an arrest warrants against Hijab was issued by the General Intelligence and the Military Intelligence Division under numbers 87 382 and 536 548 respectively and it mentioned him as "Riad Hijab son of Farid (father) and Amira (mother)" who was born in Deir al-Zour, 1966.

In 2014 another arrest warrant was issued by the Political Security Division, number: 759 783, and finally there was an arrest warrant by the Intelligence under the number 890 574.
