(Zaman Al Wasl)- French authorities decided to grant the political asylum to Elaph Qaddah, a Syrian journalist who was arrested by the Jordanian intelligence on Monday, Zaman Al Wasl reporter said.
The remarkable move by the French Embassy in Amman came to save Qaddah from extradition to Syria since his name was listed by the Syrian security services.
Qaddah's asylum visa was due to unremitting efforts by Reporters Without Borders and number of Syrian journalists.
Since Syrian revolution erupted in March 2011, hundreds of Syrian journalists and citizen journalists have killed and arrested by Bashar al-Assad security.
