Douma: female activists launch campaign 'I Have The Right To Learn'

(Zaman Al Wasl)- A group of female activists in the rebel-held town of Douma northeast the capital has launched a campaign shedding the light on the deteriorating situation of education in the Eastern Ghouta suburbs where thousands of children have no education.

"I Have The Rights To Learn" seeks to deliver a message to the international community and concerned institutions that Syrian children must have an access to schools, the group said.

The Syrian regime and Russian air strikes have constantly bombed the schools in Syria, turning many of it to rubble.

According to UNESCO, 2.6 million children have been deprived from schools due to the almost 5-year-old war.

One school of five in Syria has been damaged or completely destroyed,  UNESCO said .
