Massive gains by FSA in Qalamoun near Damascus, activists

Massive gains by FSA in Qalamoun, north Damascus, even without using the heavy anti tank weapons captured few weeks ago, activists said

 Liwa'a al-Islam Brigade and Ahrar al-Sham Have captured tanks and ammunition from regime brigade 81 base, in al-Ruhaiba city, 45km east Damascus, according to Zaman Alwasl reporter.

62 civilians at least including women and children were killed by Assad's mortar bombs in response to the Battle of liberating the Qalamoun hill which considered as the biggest military arsenal in Syria and contains tens of towns and villages.

 The Islamic bridge said in a statement via social media that ''dozens of Assad soldiers have been killed while 50 of rebels have been martyred.' The battle is taking place in Qalamoun area near to and along the main ‘international’ highway linking Damascus to the north. It is reported that the highway has been cut at al-Qastal.

 ''If the rebels can block the highway this will be a massive blow to the regime, blocking its main communication lines from Damascus & the south to the rest of the country,'' activist said.
