Hama: at least 6,000 people flee southern countryside due to regime, Russia attack

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 6,000 people have fled regime major attack on rebel-held areas in southern countryside of Hama, activists said Friday.

Hundreds of displaced families of Har Banafsheh and Deir al-Faris villages have headed the nearby al-Houla region in the northern countryside of Homs, escaping the ground and aerial attack.

Regime forces backed by Russian jets are seeking to capture the two villages in Hama to cut the main supply route to rebel-held al-Houla region.

Rebel thwarted regime attacks on Har Banafsheh and Deir al-Fardis on Wednesday, rebel news feeds said.

Russia's warplanes have conducted at least 70 raids on rebel-held towns in Hama and Homs provinces in the last three days, killing and wounding at least 7 Free Syrian Army fighters, activists said.
