At least 7,000 people fled southern countryside of Hama to Hola region: local council

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 7,000 people have fled regime major attack on rebel-held areas in southern countryside of Hama to the neighboring region of al-Houla, local revolutionary council  said Sunday.

Hundreds of displaced families of villages of Har Banafsheh, Talaf and Deir al-Faris have headed al-Houla in the northern countryside of Homs, escaping the ground and aerial attack by regime forces and Russian jets.

The revolutionary council of al-Hola region, in statement posted online,  has called on the key opposition group the National Coalition and the international aid groups to provide the urgent assistance.

According to the council, the region is hosting 325 families from Toledo town, 250 families from Kafrlaha, 375 families from Tal Dahab, and 270 from al-Burj.

Regime forces backed by Russian jets are seeking to capture the two villages in Hama to cut the main supply route to rebel-held al-Houla region.
