(Zaman Al Wasl)- Well-informed source said Syria's exiled opposition, the National Coalition, is to elect Riad Hijab, former Prime Minister, as a successor of Khaled Khoja this week.
Hijab was appointed last month in Riyadh as the General Coordinator of the High Negotiation Committee that will represent the Syrian opposition in the planned January Geneva talks.
Veteran opposition figure Michel Kilo has also been nominated to lead the coalition, source said.
The coalition, who was founded in Qatar in November 2012, has been recognized as the Syrian people’s legitimate representative by the EU and the Group of Friends of the Syrian People.
