(Zaman Al Wasl)- Jaysh al-Yarmouk said Friday that controlling the bases of Al-Muthanna Islamic Movement in the southern province of Daraa came in implementation of the Justice House decision and not to sow discord and sedition.
The key unit of Free Syrian Army said in statement that seizing al-Muthanna bases was due an order issued by the House of Justice, main Shariah body in Daraa, to confiscate bases of the movement in Sidon and Kahil towns in the eastern countryside.
The statement said al-Muthanna movement had made numerous violation and assaults such as arbitrary arrests and cutting rebels supply route to Sheikh Miskeen and blocking roads.
Al-Yarmouk Army called on the al-Muthanna 'to stand on the fence'.
Rebels have accused the movement of kidnapping Ya'qub al-Ammar early January, head of Daraa governorate council.
Al-Muthanna movement has refused an initiative by fellow rebel groups to end the tension by freeing al-Ammar and holding involved fighters to accountability.
On Friday, the movement fighters have freed Sheikh Khaled Zein al Abedin, head of Ahel Horan association after one day of abduction.
Abduction and assassinations have become one of most threats to rebel commanders and activists in the recent months.
At least 105 rebel fighters, including 15 Free Syrian Army commanders, were assassinated in 2015, in Daraa, local activists said.
Yet, no rebel group has claimed the responsibility of Daraa's serial killing.
Most of Daraa province is controlled by opposition forces, though the government holds parts of the provincial capital and a few villages in the northwest of the province.
Daraa is often dubbed the "cradle" of the uprising against Bashar al-Assad that began with protests in March 2011.
