Aleppo: rebels reach ceasefire deal with Jaysh al-Thuwar in northern countryside

(Zaman Al Wasl)-- Syrian rebels have reached a ceasefire deal with rival Jaysh al-Thuwar group in the northern countryside of Aleppo province, local reporter said Saturday.

The ceasefire came to end a series of skirmishes between both sides along the the last two months.

Rebels took towns of al-Alamiya and al-Mazraa near Menng military airbase from Jaysh al-Thuwar last Monday after heavy clashes.

Jaysh al-Thuwar is operating under the banner of Syrian Democratic Forces,
a U.S.-backed alliance of Kurd and Arab fighters was formed last October to fight ISIS but very quickly the fight has turned against other Islamist groups.

Once Syria's commercial hub, Aleppo province is now divided between regime and rebels control.
