(Zaman Al Wasl)- Islamic State fighters killed 4 regime army officers in an attack on Kuweires airbase in northern Aleppo province which was under rebels and ISIS siege for almost three years, activists said Saturday.
State-run media ignored the attack that left four Alawite officers dead, including brigadier general.
Last November, regime forces backed by Russian jets broke the ISIS-siege on Kuweires military airport, such a move was highly celebrated by regime and allies as a crucial victory.
Russian media said the defense of Kweires was symbol of the unbreakable spirit of the Syrian regime soldiers.
