Bashar Jaafari’s two brothers accused of 2 crimes: leaked criminal record

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Bashar Jaafari, the Permanent Representative of the Syrian regime to the United Nations, has been dubbed “the Lion of Geneva Negotiations” by regime loyalist due to his eagerness to defend the Syrian regime and adopting its and the Bashar al-Assad words and point of view.

Jafaari is gained praise among supporters due to his way in turning discussion and dialogue in a “Battle of words”, taking advantage of his talent in dialectic.


One of his controversial statements was his announcement of “Fatiha of regime’s Quran” last Saturday in Geneva insisting on indirect Syrian-Syrian negotiation without any external intervention. Moreover, his suggestion tpn Kurds to take paracetamol to get rid of their imagination about Kurdish Autonomy in Syria.

Zaman Al Wasl highlights some points about Jaafari’s and his family’s political and criminal history.

In regime’s intelligence archive, Jaafari was mentioned to as “Bashar Jaafari son of Mohammed Zaki and Inayat, born on April 14, 1956 in Damascus, he was banned of travelling outside Syria like other employees in regime’s administration, he was mentioned to as an employee in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Two travel ban were issued against Motaz Jaafari, the eldest brother of Bashar Jaafari, by two notices issued from the Military Intelligence in 2012.

The criminal archive obtained by Zaman Al Wasl showed important information about brothers of Jaafari.

According to archive, Basim Jaafari, son of Mohammed Zaki and Inayat, born 1960 in Damascus, was involved in a crime of theft and documented with a police investigation file in Midan police station in Damascus on July 18, 1991, beside recording his name in Tal's first degree court of a crime of theft.

Maher Jaafari, son of Mohammed Zaki and Inayat, born on 1965, was involved in a crime of working without a permission and facilitated entering of a house-made by using a forged passport and recorded in investigation branch in August 31, 2004.

Maher had another police investigation file for a crime of “incitement” recorded in Barza police station on March 22, 2009.



Majdi Jaafari, son of Mohammed Zaki and Inayat in 1963, only had two requests for criminal clearance in 2010, 2012, and his brother Motaz had the same request in 2010.
