(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian regime helicopters dropped 20 barrel bombs on Daraya, a western suburb of Damascus, killing 5 rebel fighters, including field commander, activists said on Tuesday.
Field commander, Mohamed ABu Aanas, and 4 fellow fighters were killed in the embattled Daraya as regime forces stepped up attacks on rebels across Syria backed by Russian jets.
Sources said rebels had made gains in the western neighborhood, despite the fierce aerial and ground bombing.
In the next door town of Mouadamiya, shelling and siege have been continued amid the U.N. calls to allow aid to the 45,000 besieged people.
