(Zaman Al Wasl)- The intelligence and criminal archive of 4.2 million warrants which Zaman Al Wasl obtains, shows 12 Syrian residents have forst name as “Hafez al-Assad” and 7 others carried first name of “Bassel al-Assad”, Hafez’s eldest son, added to them the families names.
The two archives revealed that arrest warrants were issued against 4 people who had names of Bassel al-Assad and Hafez al-Assad, and another was banned of travelling.
10 of people who carry the name of “Hafez al-Assad” originated from the Norrtheast region, one from Horan and the last from the countryside of Damascus. The surprising point that there was no such names from the coast or the areas loyal to the regime.
The oldest Syrian man who carry name of Hafez Al-Assad was born in 1971.
The funniest name in this regard was “Na'am li-Hafez al-Assad” or "yes to Hafez al-Assad", who’s ID card was surfaced on the internet.
The strangest name that has part of it Hafez or Bassel was Mohammed Bassel al-Assad, from te village of Dier Miqrin in the countryside of Damascus, this person’s father called Mohammed Hafez al-Assad, in this case, his full name would be: Mohammed Bassel al-Assad son of Mohamed Hafez al-Assad Zidan.
Bassel al-Assad, the eldest son on the Hafez al-Assad, Former President of Syria, was killed in car accident on 1994, and clues around the accident still unclear.
In 2000, the President Hafez al-Assad died and the presidency moved to Bashar al-Assad after changing the constitution in regard to the minimum age of the President to fit with Bashar’s age.
