Former president of National Coalition still acts as president with new initiative

Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil Elaraby, revealed through a letter to Sheikh Mouaz al-Khatib, that the former president of the National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces had asked the Arab league for an urgent meeting of Arab foreign ministers in order to inform them of the heuristic.

Khatib, apparently, still acts as president - he demanded to  include paragraph speaks about activation the pact of joint Arab defense on their meeting agenda, "in an effort to disrupt and stop the killing machine and abuses committed by the Assad regime."

 Elaraby replied to al-Khatib that he will circulate the demand to the envoys of Member States at the league, noting that the Arab league will hold an extraordinary session tomorrow at the ministerial level to discuss developments in the Syrian crisis.
