(Zaman Al Wasl)- Four Free Syrian Army fighters killed on Saturday in an ISIS suicide bomb attack stuck their headquarters in the southern province of Daraa, activists said.
The Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade, an ISIS-linked group, claimed the responsibility for the attack in Tafas town in the western countryside.
For a week, clashes have been escalated between Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade backed by the Islamic Muthanna Movement and rebels including Ahrar al-Sham and al-Nusra Front in the western countryside and Yarmouk basin.
The ISIS-linked groups launched major attack on rebels, seeking to extend a territory it controls as concern rise of an ISIS advance in Daraa while its militants have been defeated in the Syrian desert and northeastern Syria.
Yarmouk Martyrs brigade has captured Sahm al-Golan town while imposing siege on Hait village which in control of Fatah Army, field source said.
Last Monday, the ISIS affiliate took Adwan village.
In their turn, rebels backed by Nusra Front and Ahrar al-Sham movement have recaptured the towns of Mzairib and al-Sheikh Saad from Yramouk Martyrs brigade.
Rebels, who sent reinforcement to stop Yarmouk's advance in the western countryside, have formed an operation room to coordinate their military efforts in Daraa. 18 factions have participated seeking to uproot the group's strongholds.
