(Zaman Al Wasl)- A child killed and others injured during Peoples’ Protection Units (PYD)-led Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) alliance disperse of a set-in in which hundreds of displaced participated including women and children on Saturday protesting the alliance preventing the displaced there from returning to their homes in al-Haul town in eastern countryside of Hasaka.
The local Mohamed al-Khatuni stated child Bilal Mujhem al-Tallaa’ (14) was killed and two others injured by bullet shootings of PYD during the alliance dispersing of the set-in where 600 people from al-Haul town were participated.
Al-Khatuni told Zaman al-Wasl that a protest of locals of the town had preceded the set-in. they marched from “Um Hajera” village until they reached al-Haul town where SDF holds the locals in the village and does not allow them to move to other places amidst difficult living conditions.
PYD personnel could not disperse people at first so they resorted to calling for help from SDF who came with an envoy of 80 cars with several bulldozers and sprayed dust to force people at the sit-in to leave the town. The injured were transferred to hospital in city of Hasaka. the rest were forced to return to “Um Hajera” village where they reside, al-Khatuni explained.
Locals who are mostly from “al-Khawatneh” Arab tribe said they are a target for PYD violations and their ally SDF who prevented them from returning to their town al-Haul and robbed their homes pointing out that leaderships in these units are Turkish and Iranians who came from Qandil mountain, the stronghold of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) north of Iraq near the borders between Turkey and Iran.
Al-Haul is considered a military zone with strict security meausres enforced on locals’ movement there. The locals are having many difficulties due to lack of food and increased prices because of disruption of the roads leading from and to al-Haul center.
International alliance air force backed SDF to take control of al-Haul town on 14 November, 2015 during the first military campaigns to recapture areas captured by ISIS in Hasaka Countryside. United States formed SDF from militias of PYD and its self-administration in October 2015 and armed the faction.
