(Zaman Al Wasl)- Free Syrian Army fighters on Thursday have recaptured Sahm al-Goaln town from Islamic State-linked groups in the western countryside of Daraa as clashes enter its third week in the southern province, activists said.
The Yramouk Martyrs Brigade and key ally al-Muthanna Movement captured Sahm al-Golan two weeks ago after surprise attack.
FSA fighters who mobilized troops were able to regain a ground this week.
They seized Masaken Jillin, former military housing, form the Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade who still in control of Jillin town. Also, they recaptured the towns of Mzairib and al-Sheikh Saad.
Yramouk Martyrs and al-Muthanna Movement launched major attack on rebels and Nusra Front two weeks ago, seeking to extend a territory it control as concern rise of an ISIS advance in Daraa while its militants have been defeated in the Syrian desert and northeastern Syria.
On Wednesday, the ISIS-affiliated groups killed 19 FSA fighters in fierce clashes near Adwan village.
