Rifts deepen between regime, YPG in Hasaka city

(Zaman Al Wasl)- A well-informed source reported that The kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) has arrested Saleh al-Jallad, Head of the Air Force Intelligence in Hasaka, and his son, amid conditions indicate of possible conflict between the regime and (YPG) which both control the province and its countryside.

The source told Zaman Al Wasl that local residents reported that the Syrian regime and (YPG) have withdrawn their barriers from the city centre of Hasaka after a meeting Thursday afternoon, while people in Hasaka are circulating that YPG has given the regime notice to withdraw its forces from the city by mid night.

There was common interest between the Syrian regime and (YPG) led by Saleh Muslim, reached to unity in fighting all other revolutionary forces in 2013 and participated in fighting the Islamic State.

Some opposition figures and activists accuse (YPG) of being an ally to the regime since the beginning of the Syrian revolution in 2011.

Documents published by “Eqtsad”, the economic project of Zaman Al Wasl, showed that Syrian regime has requested support and help from (YPG) to protect and supervise the oil wells in Hasaka, the wealthiest in the region, by official documents and communications.

In the same time, Russia requests to consider (YPG) as a party within the opposition delegation in Geneva talks due April 13.
