(Zaman Al Wasl)- Lebanese security arrested Friday a Syrian army defector in a border town with Syria, according to the National News Agency.
Pilot Lieutenant Colonel, Hassan Khalid al-Haloush, was arrested in Jdaidet al-Fakiha town and had been referred to the court, the agency said.
Concerns over the fate of al-Haloush and tens more of Syrian army defectors detained by the Lebanese army and security are mounting, local human rights advocates says due to the dominance of Hezbollah militia and fears of being deported to Damascus.
The five-year-old conflict has killed at least 400,000 people and has displaced 12 millions. Four of them live in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey.
