Senior NDF commander killed near Damascus: source

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Senior leader of pro-regime Syrian National Defense (NDF) was killed in ambiguous circumstances near Damascus, source said Thursday.

Fida Nazmi Budur, 33, was NDF leader of Syria's southern region where he gains notorious fame over looting and robbery. Nazmi's body was buried in his hometown of Markiye village in Latakia province, according to the source.

Fida assumed until his death a very important positions in NDF militia where all mercenaries submit to his orders in 5 provinces; Damascus, Damascus countryside, Daraa, al-Qunitera, and Swidaa.

Fida is from an influential family in Qardaha, hometown of Bashar al-Assad.
Regime forces and NDF countered al-Nusra Front led attacks to regain positions lost to regime and NDF in hills of Latakia province on Wednesday.

Paramilitary group NDF was formed in 2012 and organized by regime as a volunteer reserve component of the Syrian military and it incorporates local pro-regime volunteers and Shabiha forces.

NDF is famous for its abuse of power, theft, and sectarian massacres in Syria.
