50 people killed in rebel-held Homs since ceasefire deal began: monitor

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 50 people have been killed in Homs province during two months of fragile ceasefire deal that was engineered by U.S. and Russia, local monitor said.

Activists of Talbiseh Mubasher, local monitoring group, said 100 people were also wounded in the northern countryside of Homs.

The 'Cessation of Hostilities' deal was only on paper, residents say.

Regime war planes have dropped 74 barrel bombs and carried out more than 142 raids since Feb.27. Also 530 rocket-propelled grenades were fired on rebel-held areas.

More than 270,000 Syrians have been killed and nearly half of all Syrians have been forced from their homes in the years-long conflict, according to the U.N.
