(Zaman Al Wasl)- Rawan Qaddah has escaped from regime detention in a complicated operation and has reached Turkey, activist told Zaman al-Wasl.
Qaddah, 18, who once appeared on regime TV on Sep 23, 2013, claiming 'marriage jihad' with rebels, had arrived in Turkey, after breaking out from her Damascus-based prison.
She was in bad health condition and was taken to a hospital in government-held area under a different name where she was treated before her 'prison break'.
Qaddah who was born in Nawa town in Daraa province was detained in November 2012 by military security personnel on a checkpoint. She was taken as a hostage to force her father who is a leader in Free Syrian Army (FSA) to surrender himself to regime. When her father did not surrender, the regime fabricated an imaginary story and aired on state TV, saying she was molested by her father and had sex for rebels.
The fabrication was later revealed by the regime and its media apparatus which abused and used an innocent child to get to her father in its psychological and media war against his opponents.
Zaman al-Wasl tried to contact Rawan’s mother for more details, but her mother apologized due to special reasons related to her escape operation and not to harm persons who helped her.
