Assad loyalists loot Aleppo industrial city as offensive continues

(Eqtsad)-  While the Syrian regime and Russia continue their unprecedented military escalation on opposition-held areas in Aleppo city, killing hundreds of civilians, the regime’s thug groups “Shabiha” raid and rob the industrial city of Aleppo.

Regime supporters like manufacturer engineer Mohamed Jamoul rather than admit that the pillaging campaigns are protected by the regime itself, they place the responsibility on whole villages.

In this context, Jamoul wrote a post on his personal Facebook page, “By Allah if the matter was in my hands, I swear by Allah we have villages that needs cleansing, is it possible for a whole village to be criminals, and if the whole village is criminal, isn’t their existence a disaster. Should we not commit genocide,” as an indication from him to the peoples of the village Jibreen which is close to the industrial city.

The engineer Mohammad Jamoul (the son in law of Sami Oubri, the head of the National Defense center in Aleppo) is known for his thuggish behavior in support of the regime, but it appears as if the current situation has pushed him to raise his voice high ignoring the warnings that his fans are sending him on his personal page on the social media network Facebook.

According to Jamoul's page that became the main source for news about the pillaging that is happening in the industrial city, over 25 electric converter centers were raided, other than warehouses that have been cut for the metal to be sold as scrap metal, reaching the water pipes, mills machines, and others.

And more than that, Jamoul concludes that the theft and pillaging campaigns that are happening in the city are no longer restricted to simple people but have become a profession with its own milieu, clarifying on his Facebook page, “This profession now has big traders, small traders, laborers, funders, markets, and warehouses.”

Mohammad Fares al-Shehabi, the head of the Aleppo Chamber of Industry that is subordinate to the regime, placed the responsibility of the thefts in the industrial city on what he described as “failed government” and he reiterated on his personal Facebook page, “If it was of my tasks, I would gladly carry weapons and go to face the thieves of the industrial city.”

It is worth indicting that there has been a series of obstacles that have prevented the Chamber of Industry in Aleppo from restarting the production in the industrial city since July 2014, when the regime took control of the industrial city.  (Translation by Rana Abdul)
