(Zaman al-Wasl)- Islamic State captures half of al-Muhur gas field north west of Palmyra following an Isis offensive on regime strongholds on Friday, activists reported.
Isis captured the regime defensive locations of the field which led to regime withdrawal to the other part of the field.
Al-Muhur gas field is situated to the east of Tifour military airport and is 25 kilometers away from Hajar field gas to the north.
Isis seized the main Shaer field gas in the east of Palmyra on Thursday in addition to Shaer Gas Company marking a victory for the group which lost Palmyra to regime in March.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed the seizure of the gas field area roughly 90 miles northwest of Palmyra, the ancient city known for its historic monuments.
