Jaish al-Islam seeks to reconcile with rival group in Eastern Ghouta district

(Zaman al-Wasl)- Leaders of Jaish al-Islam and Faylaq al-Rahman rebel factions signed two different proposals to name a group of personalities to resolve the dispute between the two factions in Eastern Ghouta suburbs near the capital.

Leader of Jaish al-Islam Essam Buydani signed a proposal naming 3 individuals to resolve the dispute and they are: Abu Hashem al-Wazeer, Abu Ali Idari, and Judge Abu Yousef.

On the other hand, leader of Faylaq al-Rahman Abdul Naser Shumyir named three other persons and they are: Sheikh Abu al-Abed, Sheikh Abu Alaam, and Sheikh Abu Huzayfa according to a copy of the proposal dated on May 7.

A “War Statements” took place in the last few days between the two rebel factions along their fights in the field. Most of their released statements accuse one another of violations of the accorded truce among the two factions.

Bloody clashes between the two rebel factions in a key opposition stronghold east of Syria's capital have left 10 civilians and dozens of Islamist fighters dead on Tuesday.

The fighting has rocked Eastern Ghouta since Thursday, despite a local freeze on hostilities between rebels and regime fighters, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
