Sarcastic video by Syrian refugee goes viral on YouTube

(Zaman Al Wasl)- A YouTube vidoe posted by Syrian refugee in Netherlands has goes viral after he remixed his refugee suffering with lyrics of ' Flashlight' song for the English singer Jessie J, using an the application “Sing Karaoke by Smule.”

The video has harvested hundreds of thousands of "like" when it was surfaced on the internet and the social media sites, as it presented the suffer of a Syrian young man in very simple and funny way.

“the video was merely spontaneous all I wanted was to deliver a message to my so-called-friends who let me down when I came to Netherland, and the difficulties I faced to find a house that needed huge job to be habitable”, Mazen Ota-Bashi told Zaman Al Wasl.



Mazen was very surprised from the way the video has spread, as all what he did was implementing a dialogue in his mind on the mobile application using his musical background to deliver his thoughts.

Mazen, 36, a Syrian young man has been to Netherland for 8 months, as he arrived from Greece. His father is Farouq Ota-Bashi, the Syrian musical encyclopaedia and the owner of “Sound of Damascus Record”.

“it is an irony to draw attention of so huge number of people when you express your feeling for being let down by your close friend”, added

Mazen mentioned that he has some experience in piano but not professional.
In regard to his tour to reach to Netherland, he said that he needed to travel via sea to reach to Greece from turkey, then in the airport he used tricks to deceived the lady in immigration pretending he was a British man in order to escape checking out his forged passport. “I could not believe myself when the flight took off and I became in the way to Netherland”.
