(Zaman Al Wasl)- Syrian rebels on Thursday have captured al-Zara town from regime forces in the northern countryside of Homs province, killing 13 army troops, local activists said.
Homs Operation Room, an alliance of Islamist factions, have also captured al-Aaliyat and al-Qanatir checkpoints, field source said.
Homs Operation Room was formed on 4 October 2015. The room includes Ahrar al-Sham Movement and Faylaq Homs, al-Nusra Front, Liwa Rijal Allah and Ahl al-Sunnah w’l Jamaah.
In relevant development, leader in Ahrar al-Sham movement Abu Abed al-Talawi survived an assassination on Wednesday in besieged al-Waer neighborhood in Homs by a bomb installed in his house. Anonymous persons shot after the explosion and fled the location, local activists said.
