(Zaman Al Wasl)- Colonel Ahmed Othman, Commander of Sultan Murad Brigade, a unit of Free Syrian Army operating in Aleppo, said more fierce fighting to take place in the war-torn province unless achieving significant political solution, assuring that Iran sees Aleppo as battle of destiny.
Colonel Othman in his talk to Zaman Al wasl said: “Battles in the city and countryside of Aleppo are ongoing, it is expected for the battles to reach to the regime-controlled area in the city of Aleppo, unless the truce is strongly enforced.”
Othman does not see any real threat in the Iranians’ statements about revenge for their losses and killing their militias by rebels: “we get used to their statements, Iran is committed with the war for a long time, but this time they put all their power in the southern countryside of Aleppo for mainly aiming to control the route of Aleppo-Damascus to reach to Kafraya and al-Foua, like they had done before in Nobel and al-Zahra.”
The commander considered the high tone of the Iranian threats especially those declared by two commanders of the Revolutionary Guards: Ali Shamkhani and Mohsen Ridaee, as a result of their big losses in Southern countryside of Aleppo.
“Iran’s losses this time are too big, especially they hit their own fighters, not the Afghani who came to fight for money, but this time they put their power in the battle with support of Hezbollah militias and the Iraqi and Zanabiyon and Fatimyon militias” the commander detailed and mentioned killing 46 militants of the pro-regime Palestinian al-Quds Brigade on Thursday.
Colonel Othman responded to the Iranian threat in strong confidence in victory, as rebels’ are the owner of the land and they have the right to defend it. He confirmed that they would perform more and more operation against the Iranians and send them back to their country in their coffins.
On the other hand, according to the commander, the Islamic State has put more power in the North Countryside of Aleppo and withdrew many forces from Palmyra and Dhomair to support their forces in the countryside of Aleppo. He revealed that they became aware of these developments by detainees of the Islamic State who were capture recently.
“the Islamic State wants a prevailing war in the North Countryside of Aleppo, and we are ready for it and preparing important operations against them, soon you would hear good new from the North countryside of Aleppo.”
The commander said that the Islamic States is trying to provoke Turkey by frequent shelling on the Southern Turkish city of Kilis, but that reflected badly on it.
