(Zaman Al Wasl)- Dozens including civilians were injured and killed by clashes between regime forces and Kurdish security forces, the Asayish, on Wednesday in the city of Hasaka over dispute who will guard 9 grade exams center, according to a Kurdish activist in Hasaka.

Activist Abed al-Ali said clashes have erupted between Asayish and regime forces in the central market in Hasaka city between al-Qamishli Street to the west, al-Khabour Street to the east, and Filistin Street in the south where the Kurdish Asayish is stationed in Marshou Square.

Al-Ali told Zaman al-Wasl, the clashes erupted when the Kurdish militia attempted to enter the exams center in al-Mwahada Syriac School which is guarded by regime forces near Filistin Street in the center of the city. Al-Ali pointed out that the lieutenant in charge of the center banned them from entering which led to a dispute between the two parties. The dispute turned into clashes in which one personnel from al-Hajaneh forces was killed and several injured from both forces.

A state of paranoia and panic hit the students who were performing biology exam in the centers near to the clashes area. They were locked into schools between 9 and 10 a.m. Several civilians were injured and transported to hospitals, al-Ali added.

Asayish militia said on its official Facebook page that, “the regime mercenaries are shooting heavy fire in the central market in Hasaka city and they are spreading panic between locals and civilians.” Without adding anymore details.

Similar clashes took place on 20 April between Asayish and National Defense Forces militia in the center of Qamishli city north of Hasaka which killed 17 personnel related to Kurdish militias subordinate to People’s Protection Units (PYD) and 20 personnel from regime and NDF forces.

In addition, the April clashes killed 17 civilians during the fight. The clashes ended in the fourth day by a truce and exchange of captives.
