Russia uses Israeli drones in Syria's offensive: source

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Intensive and strange aircraft movement has been ongoing for a month in Hemeimem military airport, the main Russian forces stronghold in Syria, a source said from the coastal city of Jableh.

The source told Zaman al-Wasl that different civil aircraft, military aircraft and drones including Israeli manufactured ones are flying and landing from the airport and do not carry any sign related to their identity. These aircrafts are not the Russian known ones.

Israeli manufactured drones from Searcher type flies and lands continuously in the airport. They were photographed in Jableh. It is likely that Russia has bought these from Israel during the last period, the source confirmed.


It is known that Israel provides Russia with drones since few years in a framework of mutual deal that was agreed upon during the second decade of the century. It is believed that the two parties developed it after consultation of military coordination following Russian intervention in Syria to prevent any air accidents between the two parties air force. They also agreed to exchange information between them in air and on Syrian soil.

The source indicated that America manufactured military transport aircraft of C-130 type, iron color carries out flights from and to Hemeimem airport on average between 8 to 12 flights a week and in different times during day and night.

Civil aircrafts with two engines are believed to used militarily due to its intensive flying and landing from the airport. These aircrafts do surveys on Syrian coast from north to south and on different heights.

 There are no signs to verify the identity of these aircrafts although it flies in conjunction with Sukhoi 35 jet fighters before and after Sukkoi flies, the source added.
