Rebels kill, wound 30 regime troops near al Zara town

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Rebel group operating in the northern countryside of Homs city said on Friday 30 regime army troops were killed and wounded in al-Zara battlefront.

The Operations Room of Northern Countryside of Homs, an alliance of rebel factions, said the head of regime military campaign was deeply injured as regime forces fail to recapture the Alawite town of al-Zara after one week of rebels' capture.

The clashes have also intensified in Harbanfseh town in the western countryside of Hama, losses reported in regime ranks.

On Thursday, at least 22 civilians killed in deadly air strikes hit rebel-held areas in the northern countryside if Homs, local reporter said.

8 people were killed on Thursday in regime's barrel bombs attack on al-Rastan city, less than 24 hours since 13 family members killed in vacuum missiles fired into their underground shelter in the city. 12 more people have lost their lives in al-Hola and Talf towns.

Activists said the regime and Russia's warplanes had carried out more than 100 air strikes on Thursday on northern Homs, 8 of it hit al-Rastan.

The northern countryside of Homs have been endured to severe siege and heavy bombardment despite the 'Cessation of Hostilities' ceasefire deal.

Bashar al-Assad's regime has been revived since September 30 when Russia started its offensive in Syria, taking the lead in the war on Syrians.

Assad hoped the pressing attacks could recapture the northern district of Homs to extend territory that links his hometown Latakia with Hama and Homs.
