(Zaman al-Wasl)- Assad regime forces and Syrian National Defense (NDF) militia launched the biggest arrest campaign affected children whose ages do not exceed 14 on Friday in regime-controlled areas in Deir ez-Zor province aiming for mandatory recruitment to fight Islamic State.
According to “Deir ez-Zor is being slaughtered silently” Campaign, NDF militia leader Firas Jiham executed a young man in al-Wadi Street because he refused mandatory recruitment and to participate in fighting beside bad-reputed NDF which kidnapped, robbed and raped.
Member of the campaign Ahmad Ramadan told Zaman al-Wasl that Firas al-Jiham is considered the closes to regime forces leader in eastern region Major General Mohamed Khadour and one of those who are workıng on recruitment at the SND militia. He is also the first responsible of kidnapping a girl few months ago.
Ramadan said there are two rival forces within the military regime of Assad regime in Deir ez-Zor.
The first force follows Major General Mohamed Khadour which include NDF militia in its ranks.
The second force follow the leader of the military operation in Deir ez-Zor General Issam Zahr al-Deen and includes Jaish al-Ashaaer in its ranks. This justifies why Jaish al-Ashaaer was expelled from regime-controlled areas in the city and banning them of entering al-Jawrah and al-Qusoor neighborhoods with their weapons following clashes between them and NDF.
Field Activist Mohamed al-Furati (puseydum) said that Firas al-Jiham in addition to his work as a leader of NDF militia, he is considered one of the biggest drug dealers in the area. He is also one of the brokers for Air Force Intelligence, Military Security, and Criminal Security officers regarding the detainees who got arrested on political or criminal charges.
In the first incidents of its kind, Firas al-Jiham and its militia stormed a first aid center for Syrian Red Crescent in regime-controlled areas in Deir ez-Zor and took SRC staff consisting of an ambulance, two drivers, medical staff, and medical equipment to Jabal al-Thardeh overlooking Deir ez-Zor airport.

The NDF militia took the SRC Staff to participate in aiding the injured in regime forces. They took off SRC posters and confiscated their cars.
Jiham is known for not having any school qualification and he was arrested more than once prior to the Syrian revolution 2011 on charges of drug consuming and drug dealings, prostitution facilitation and theft.
