Translation by Yusra Ahmed

(Zaman Al Wasl)- A prominent figure of  the Kurdih national Council has confirmed attacking many villages in Hasaka by the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and arresting young men to recruit them for fighting against the Islamic State, and arrested old men who protested against their acts.

Mohammed Ismael,  member of the general Secretariat of Kurdish National Council reported to Zaman Al Wasl that dozens of vehicles for PYD’s militants have seized the village of Sabae Jafar in malikiyah area of Hasaka province looking for young men to recruit them in fighting by their side, and they raided villages of Tal Adas and Wai Assous and Tabaqa, an others and messed up in houses and searched them looking for personal arms and took them away.

The Kurdish prominent figure added that  PYD members have raided in the same time villages to the south of Amooda for the same reasons.

Ismael explained that PYD’s militants arrested even the old men because they protested against their actions and tried to prevent them from searching houses. He mentioned that the Kurdish National Council would issue a statement in regard to that.

The incident came after media statements' exchange between the two Kurdish parties (PYD, and Kurdish national Council) as the former accused the Syrian Peshmerga of being funded by Turkey and prevented the national Council from taking part in controlling the  crossing point of al-Alya with Iraqi Kurdistan. He explained that reason was behind th closure of the water crossing which badly reflected on providing food and essential goods to Hasaka.

In October 2014, PYD  had started a campaign to arrest young men at the entrance of Qamishli city, Ras al-Ain, Tal Tamer al-Derbasiyah, Amooda,al-malikiyah, al-Qahtaniyah and others to recruit who age between 18-30 to fight with them against the Islamic State for a period of 6 months, then it was extended to 9 months.

Since th beginning of 2014, PYD announced the "Self- Administration" with independent security and military systems, courts and other institutions similar to independent countries in three regions: Efrin, Ain al-Arab and al-Jazeera to the north of Hasaka, which stayed away of the Syrian regime air strikes all that time till now.
