(Zaman Al Wasl)- It could be the first time in which both the regime loyalists and opposition agree on one issue, as both sides had fed up of unacceptable and provoking acts of Shbiha in the coastal city of Latakia.
“I wish they go to fronts and get killed by the rebels to free us from their actions and crimes, as Fawaz al-Assad was much better than them”, lawyer Sulaiman Hassoun told Zaman Al Wasl.
The moneychanger “Agob” said that people of Latakia had become familiar with actions of Shabiha since the Eighties of last decade, but he expressed his surprise of those Shabiha these days, as they do unbelievable and shocking acts.
Agob added that many ”Shabiha” entered his shop and took the U.S. Dollars off people’s hands and went away, did not care about the CCTV cameras or the witnesses and complains against them. “I spoke to the security and police, but nothing is expected to be done”
Residents of Latakia talked about incidents when Shabiha broke intp shops and looted them in daytime in presence of their owners, besides driving their cars against the traffic, blocking roads, and ignoring queues at bakeries and petrol stations.
Mohammed al-Sahili, correspondent of Latakia Media Network reported that a group of Sabiha in a 4-wheel-drive car have on Friday blocked the road of 8 March that leading to the National hospital and prevented ambulances from getting through despite begging of a lady accompanied her husband who had stroke.
Regime's loyalists expressed their annoyance of Shabiha's acts, as they do not go to fronts and do all sort of unacceptable behaviours.
Syrian Coast News, pro-regime Facebook pages wrote angrily: “then what we can do with those who wear the military uniform outside the army, we have fed up of their acts, they took everyone’s turn, even at stations or bakeries they push women and take their turn, and everyone talk to them, they hurt him and ask if he knows who they are.”
Even comments on posts were very angry and were not free of swearing and impolite expressions against Shabiha.
People afraid of those law-breaching figures, therefore, they let them do whatever they want in their properties and shops, otherwise they would be hurt by those Shabiha.
Lawyer Hassoun explains that those Shabiha are not part of any official military formation, they are bodyguards for many prominent security and military figures who do not leave the coast, and they receive cover for all their actions by their bosses.
