Latakia: Rebels thwart regime attack on Hadada village

(Zaman A Wasl)- Syrian rebels have thwarted regime attack
on the village of al-Hadada in Latakia province for the seventh time this month, causing significant injuries and deaths among the regime forces and allied Shiite militias, local activists said.

After a preparatory shelling and bombing in all different kinds of weapons, forces of Syrian regime and Hezbollah have attacked the village of al-Hadada this Thursday morning, but they became victims of well planed traps made by the rebels which caused significant losses among the attacking forces.

Majd al-Naji, correspondent of Latakia Media Network detailed that the missile and mortar shelling has started Thursday early morning accompanied by many barrel bombs were thrown from a helicopter on the targeted area, then the land attack started, but the attacking forces were caught in advanced traps made by Ahrar al-Sham and Failaq al-Sham were many were killed and injured.

Al-Naji mentioned that clashes are still on until the time of preparing the news.
The correspondent mentioned that rebels have caught appeals for support and reinforcement the attacking forces made to their commanders via wireless devices.

This attack is the seventh attempt of the regime to invade the village of al-Hadada within a month, as it tries to control it due to its strategic position after losing control on the village of al-Kabana.

Last Thursday May 19, 13 members of the National Defense Forces (NDF) were were killed by hitting their vehicle with a Taw rocket launched by the rebels in the village of al-Hadada, which caused huge anger in the regime-loyal areas in Latakia.

This attack come despite the truce forced by the Russia which threatened of attacking any military formation breaches the cease-fire after May 25.
