(Zaman Al Wasl)- An official at the self-administration for Rojava Federalism lessened the probability of recapture of Raqqa and expel of Islamic State from the city when the general population of Raqqa tends to stand by Isis in the face of Kurdish militia who displaced Arab and Turkmen populations in areas they controlled most prominently Tal Abyad.
Mutual President of Rojava, an Arab origin from Tal Abyad, Mansour Ibrahim al-Saloum told Zaman al-Wasl the battle of Raqqa will not be near and might be delayed until a safe road is secured for civilians.
Al-Saloum indicated that Federal Administration is communicating with intellectuals from Raqqa to coordinate efforts in running the city after expelling Isis. He stressed that the administration of Raqqa should be belong to Raqqa people regardless of the military party controlling it
On the other hand, Raqqa Activist Abu Sham disclaimed that Federal Administration is communicating with intellectuals in Raqqa saying the general mood of the public is directed to fight the Kurdish militia not out of love for Isis, but rather fearing to be displaced as is the case in villages and towns controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Abu Sham added there is a migration movement in the city towards nearby villages controlled by Isis in addition to migration movement towards the northern villages where SDF and Isis have clashes such as Sharkarak and Salouk.
In a related context, al-Saloum disclaimed any existence of Elitist Forces, the military wing of al-Ghad Movement led by Ahmad al-Jarba. He also disclaimed any coordination between Rojava and the movement pointing out that Rojava official secured a places for migrants from Raqqa in Tal Abyad. He expected that most of the migrants from Raqqa will come to Tal Abyad and its nearby villages.
