(Zaman al-Wasl)- The Syrian regime has recruited agents in the ranks of Islamic State, leaked documents showed.
The documents published in accordance with Damascus Documents include correspondence between Major General Ali Mamlouk, head of National Security Office and former Chief of General Intelligence, with retired General Haydar Haydar from Shiite- populated Nubul city in Aleppo countryside who returned to military activity during the Syrian revolution to occupy the post of Head of Security Committee in Nubul and its surrounding, according to a very important document.
Haydar who was head of Veterans Fighters Association in his town reports information to Mamlouk stating existence of 2500 persons between ages of 20-45 ready to be join the ranks of Isis and execute missions assigned to them inside Isis or join the fighting.
Haydar confirmed recruiting regime personnel inside Islamist organization achieved good results in the region in coordination with authorities concerned in the northern region.
“Now, we have many personnel and powerful leadership inside Isis in the northern region in general. They have enough capacity to secure entrance of new volunteers inside the organization through recommendation without stirring any doubts,” Haydar announced.
Also, the document includes a description of the location of Nubul and Zahraa towns in Aleppo to be strategic that could enable them to control Aleppo Autostrade as well as enable regime forces to enter and exit Iraqi borders in coordination with allies on the Iraqi side to transport fighters and ammunition.
Syrian opposition members accuse Isis of being connected with the regime considering it the Trojan horse and one of the regime schemes to finish off the revolution by Isis supporting Assad forces in battles and sending a message to International Community that Assad is fighting terrorism.
Other opposition figures consider that Isis is infiltrated by the regime in the least estimation and in both cases whether Isis was made by Assad or infiltrated by him, the organization damaged the rebels and the revolution alike especially in north and east regions in Syria.
