(Zaman Al wasl)- Alaa Makhlouf, the personal assistant of Asma al-Assad, Bashar al-Assad’s wife, was killed, and different stories were told to explain his death.
There are three scenarios point to the responsible for killing him: the first scenario was strongly adopted by the regime and its media, accused terrorist groups of doing that.
The second scenario suggested that “the group of Ahrar Alawite” was behind killing him, relying on statement surfaced on social media in which the group adopted killing Alaa Makhlouf.
Political experts and analysts accused Bashar al-Assad of ordering killing his wife’s bodyguard because of rumours about a relationship between both of them.
Political Analyst Tariq haj-Bakri commented that no evidences available yet to confirm any of the three suggestions.
He confirmed that it would be difficult for the opposition group to reach to the close circle of Basher al-Assad and his wife, as protecting them is managed by the republican guards under supervision of Russia and Iran, which weakens the first scenario.
Moreover, Haj-Bakri expressed that he was not convinced of real existence of “Group of Ahrar Alawite" and he suggested that they are only virtual on Facebook and he suspects that regime’s intelligence who created that name and manage the Facebook page.
Haj-Bakri did not want to discuss the third scenario but in the same time he did not rule out the possibility that the regime to kill its own supporters and close members as it had done with the crisis cell in 2012, and killing Hilal al-Assad, Miraj Oral, General Mohammed Suleiman, and Imad Mughniyah and others.
Alaa Makhlof was one of the closest to Asma al-Assad who supervised many of her charitable projects and they used to spend long time together because of working conditions.
The way of killing his is not confirmed yet, some say that he was killed by shooting him in his car while driving on Sweida highway, while others mentioned that he was found dead in his car.
Even the definition of his job with Asma al-Assad was not clear, as some media mentioned he was the bodyguard of Asma al-Assad, while others reported he was the first secretary of her office, or a journalist in the media office of presidency.
The well known media figure faisal al-Qassem commented on his Facebook page saying that it could be Bashar al-Assad who ordered of killing Alaa makhlouf and the head of the Military Security in Sweida major General Wafiq Naser who performed the operation.
A comment by the owner of a facebook page called “Ibn Marj Meerban” mentioning that Bashar al-Assad has ordered a pilot to kill Makhlouf by hitting him with rockets from his helicopter on Sweida highway, however the comment was deleted two minutes later and the page was cancelled as well.
