11 Syrian people, including 4 children, killed by Turkey's border guards: witness

(Zaman Al Wasl)- At least 11 Syrian civilians, including 4 children, killed early Sunday by Turkish border guards near in the town of Kharbet al-Juz in Idlib province as they were illegally crossing the border, eye-witnesses said.

Witnesses told Zaman al-Wasl that 4 children and 2 women were among the victims.

 A footage was circulated between the activists saying it shows few of the victims of the massacre committed by Turkish border guards. The footage shows a woman carrying her child who seemed dead beside the child another dead child with blood.



Activists condemned the massacre on social media and demanded Turkish authorities to start an immediate investigation and to hold the massacre’s perpetrators accountable. They demanded again open borders for civilians fleeing the hells of war in Syria and Assad’s barrels and ISIS knives.

It should be noted this is not the first time the Turkish Jandirma kills Syrian civilians on the borders. Tens of similar killings were documented; however, this is the first time they kill this number in one day.

The Turkish authorities closed its regular borders in front of the Syrian refugees since a year and a half. The act which forces many Syrians to risk their life and take dangerous illegal routes to flee to Turkey. (Translation by Rana Abdul)
